Thanks. My resolv.conf file had

search nc.rr.com
nameserver 192.168.0.1

I removed that nameserver and added the ones you suggested and everything
works fine now. I'm not sure why it was working before the way it was (or
if got changed somehow). Perhaps I should have mentioned that I'm using a
router. Actually I do remember the power went off a few days ago so I had
to power off and power on the modem and router but I don't know what that
would have to do with anything.
