I'm having some trouble getting my multimedia keyboard's keys (stop,
play, next, etc) to work with VLC media player. I've googled it and
found lots of other people with the problem but no real solutions. If
you have experience with this, then maybe you can tell me how you got
it working. But I'm not holding my breath to find a solution to that
here.

Instead, what I probably ought to do is look for a new media player
that does what I need, namely:
- supports multimedia keys (directly or through other helpers)
- supports streaming online radio (like http://di.fm)
- is somewhat stable

Rhythmbox supports the features, but is unfortunately not very
stable... crashes, hangs, is slow loading streams, does weird things
sometimes.

Lots of other media players don't support streaming audio like I need.

What media players have you run across that might be what I'm looking for?
