OK - I took everyone's advice, changed the cable, reinstalled the network,
and replaced the switch with an old 10MB hub I had sitting around - the
lashup now works but the linux box still exhibits some sort of problem.

Just to be sure that the wireless bridge was not the problem, I hooked the
linux box directly to the bridge and it runs just great - full speed!

But - when I hook the linux box and the win box to the hub, the win box
runs great but the linux box runs very slow and then will quit working for
a while. It acts like a buffer is getting full and must empty before
anything else will happen. If I hook them to the switch, the linux box
ceases to see the network again.

I appreciate the help in getting the basic interface to work - now, any
ideas about the speed problems with the hub/switch in the network?

TIA

Ken
