Subject : LUG: When do security updates for Ubuntu 9.10 end?

Reading from this website

<http://bit.ly/cASYbf>

it appears that "support" will last for 18 months from the date it was
released. But what exactly does "support" mean? Does it mean that
after the 18 months, if security vulnerabilities are found and patched
in software on my system, I will be unable to update Ubuntu? In other
words, will Canonical completely quit providing updated packages after
the 18 months?

I'm not eager to upgrade my production machine from 9.10 to 10.04 (LTS).
But ultimately I may have no choice, if indeed Canonical will quit
providing security updates :(

Can someone clue me in here?
