Alex,

Just ask me for any resources you need and I will see that we get them
for this project.

Also, I /really/ want to have all the yum repos, apt repos, devel repos
in the same place. Which is over here:

/afs/bp/project/realmlinux/yum/CLS/RealmLinux/

Right now there are at least 2 versions of Realm Linux for Fedora 10.
Mostly because no one knows about anyone else's work. ;-)

I will be glad to give whoever we deem the proper access. But I do need
to create separate AFS volumes so let me know please. I have some
devel/scratch space in AFS that we can use as well.

In other notes, I've upgraded my buildsystem to build packages in
current rawhide and the forth coming Fedora 11.

Feel free to use the wiki as well. Anyone with an unity ID can login
and edit.

I'm also using Fedora 11 to do some development for RHEL 6 which I
expect to be released in late fall. (I don't work for RH, IANAL, I have
no knowledge of release schedules, insert disclaimer here.) I want to
implement a configuration management system (Google: bcfg2) which I
think I've talked about before here. I'll have the bcfg2 repository
available (via Git) in the near future once I have a good proof of
concept and I've finished up some work on the openafs packages.

My goals for Realm Linux 6 are something of the like:

* Implement all configuration and package requirements in Bcfg2
* Make bcfg2 work in a distributed, partitioned manner via a
distributed VCS (Git/Hg) and whatever code to automate
* Tear apart RealmConfig
+ Make it configure which bcfg2 repository to use
+ For personal/private/whatever use, make realmconfig clone and setup
a local bcfg2 repository so that the machines owner can have full
access + all of the normal cfg updates if chosen.
+ Figure out what sub-tools need to stay or go and make those
subtools interact with the bcfg2 repo
* Have more maintainers
* Figure out what the OIT Strategic Operations Plan (SOP) for NCSU's
filesystems of choice means to Realm Linux.
* Get LDAP netgroups to work (requires LDAP schema changes) (low
priority)
