Yeah, I recommend Ubuntu. It has a great reputation for making things just
work. You should also subscribe to the LUG list if you haven't, since that's
where we'll reply - http://lug.ncsu.edu/mailinglists.php You should have no
problem getting your NTFS partitions mounted, at least for read access, if it
doesn't do it automatically.

There's user-land drivers for writing to NTFS filesystems called Captive.

I also hear that the 2.6.15 kernel will have full read-write support for NTFS,
which is something to look forward to.
