Dale,

I'm going to send this email over to NCSU's Linux User Group. There's
some folks on that mailing list with quite a lot of experience that will
be glad to help. You can find about about the group and its mailing
lists by visiting http://lug.ncsu.edu

These folks will probably recommend either Fedora Core or Ubuntu. Both
of which are fine distributions. The problems we will face are dealing
with NTFS and your SATA RAID. NTFS is Microsoft IP which keeps a lot
of support for it out of Linux. We should be able to at least read the
partitions however. If you are reinstalling Windows anyway you might
want to consider using FAT32 which works well under Linux.

A lot of the hardware SATA RAID is problematic...because is proprietary
and cheap. The folks on the LUG list will know better than I which ones
work and which don't. Although, the 3Ware SATA RAID cards work very
will with Linux.

LUG'ers, have at it. Also, you don't need to copy Remedy.

Thanks!

Jack Neely
