: LUG: Anybody knows \"How to speed up processing speed in Fedora 3\"?

Can anyone help me understand how to speed up FC 3. I came across a forum that you can limit the swap space and speed up the processing speed, however, they didn\'t have the steps on how-to do it. I am relatively new to the linux plateform and I hope to get some advices from here.
If possible, can someone also tell me how to play make totem play avi, mpeg or any other video codecs ? or is there some apps that similar to winamp that can play videos and mp3s in FC3?
