To compile mplayerplug-in yourself you will need the mozilla
development files along with mplayer and its dependencies.

Another route to go if you would prefer to use the Totem media player
is to install totem with the xine backend (on ubuntu this is
totem-xine) and the firefox plugin that accompanies it
(totem-xine-firefox-plugin), along with the windows codecs from the
plf (http://plf.zarb.org/). I tried this combo on a brand new install
of Ubuntu 6.06 this weekend and it had no problem with the videos on
yahoo.
