There is a fairly complete list of Linux-supported Broadcom chips at wireless.kernel.org[1]. You can find your chip's PCI ID by running "lspci | grep 1434" and looking for a string in the format "14e4:XXXX".

If it's the 14e4:4331 (the one that ships in Macbook Pro 8,2's), then the official line is that it will be supported in kernel 3.2 (which is really good newsOTOH, since you're using Ubuntu you may have to manually build an updated kernel). If not, then it should have the support status somewhere on the list.

(and possibly triple boot with Windows 7, but that's another issue) I actually successfully dual booted, with only one major problem, no wireless. I did some googleing and found that Ubuntu doesn't have the drivers for the "MacBook Pro Early 2011" models. I used model identifier and I have "MacBookPro8,1." Does anyone know of a way to get wireless working on these newer MacBooks or do I have to wait for Broadcom to release the drivers (if so, do you think they will release the drivers?)? I would really like to run Ubuntu on this computer without Virtualbox and with wireless.
