If the "physical" partition is next to the logical volume group, the only way of doing it is to add the partition to the LVM.

If you want to have the partitions be unified underneath first, you need to :
backup your data
deconstruct the LVM
resize/merge the partitions
reconstruct the LVM

Hi all,

I have some unpartitioned space lying next to a (physical) partition
containing a logical volume group, how can I merge 2 partitions into 1?
I mean logically, I know how to add a space to a logical volume group;
but I don' t like the fact that physically they are still 2 separate
partitions.

Please help this newbie, thanks!
