Hey everyone,

I was asked to let everybody know about the FOSS club, a club on campus that could potentially be interesting to some of club members. They'll be having their first meeting this year fairly soon - see the forwarded email if you're interested.

Thanks,
POTLUG

FOSS meeting (with WiCS) on 30 September 2019

The FOSS (Free Open Source Software) Interest Group will hold its first of 3 meetings this fall on Monday 9/30, 4:30pm-5:00pm in EB2-3211.

Our topic will be open source business models and entrepreneurship , and our guest speaker will be NCSU alumnus Michael DeHaan , creator of Ansible. WiCS is co-sponsoring this meeting and providing food.

FYI:  Our second meeting is planned for 23 October 2019, at 5:00pm, and the topic will be security in open source , with guest speaker Dr. Brad Reaves from the CSC faculty.  A third meeting is being planned for mid-November, with the tentative topic of open source license models (what they mean, what to watch out for, and more).

Please share this announcement with anyone in the NCSU community that you think will be interested!
