Sounds like a great idea. Having an OSS hub will be a great way for students who want to contribute to a local project to find something interesting to contribute to and gain experience on. For whatever it's worth, it'll be a good way for NC State people to show off our OSS contributions too.

So that's my idea... is that the same purpose you were thinking of using this site for?

Folks,

I'm looking for some help for the

https://opensource.ncsu.edu

web site.  I'd like to see that be active and a "center" for NCSU's FOSS
community.  Or at least a starting point.

The idea is that the site/wiki will host the FOSS Fair site (Feb 12th!)
as well as host the "Open Source Initiative" from OIT (me).  Where the
OIT Open Source Initiative's goals include providing some wiki space for
FOSS projects or at least some knowledge of the open source work
happening here at NCSU.

Obviously, it could expand to be more, but I'd definitely like some
contributors and ideas.  Anyone can edit the site with an account and
membership in the EditGroup.  (The FrontPage requires AdminGroup, but
that's not hard either.)

How would you like to see that site move forward?

Jack
