I can't make the meetings this semester but I'm interested in LaTeXing my resume. :) Please if possible send any presentations, URLs, notes, etc. used in the meeting out to the mailing list afterwards!

Thanks,

Our next meeting is tomorrow at 7:00pm in Riddick 461 . To prepare for the upcoming career fair, we will be teaching you to create your resume using the LaTeX document markup language.

LaTeX gives you fine-grained control over the style and layout of your documents, while allowing you to easily apply document-wide changes in the same way CSS does for HTML. This makes it easy to craft a good-looking resume that will set you apart from the sea of ugly Word abiminations most people hand in. Additionally, a LaTeX resume can score you bonus points in the hiring process; many tech-forward resume reviewers at the companies you're already applying to can spot a resume made with LaTeX, and view it as a sign that the applicant is exceptional.

Come on out and learn how to create a resume that will give you an edge at the career fair!

All attendees are welcome to join us for dinner at some nearby restaurant after the meeting.
