I can vouch for alternative shirt-making :-)

normally:
0) Screen Printing Services - this is what most everyone does and its the most expensive

now for the fun ones:
1) Get a screen made ($50) and print the shirts yourselves at the College of Textiles.  They have the printer, and you could chip in for some paint, but everyone can bring their own shirt and print it wherever they want on it.  Would require some CoT contact i suppose.

2) Iron-On Transfer.  Not as spiffy as the other methods, but you can do as many colors as your printer can, so really cool designs are possible.  Also, these things are like $0.25 more than the price of the shirt.

3) Acrylic stencil.  This is the most manual-labor, but its not *that* bad.  Basically manually screenprinting, you cut out a stencil, lay it on the shirt, and paint acrylic over it.  I do this all the time to make my own T-shirt designs, and the paint is pretty cheap.  This is the longest out of all of the options.

These go for the LUG too, since we were thinking about shirts
