Your DNS server is not resolving names. Your dns nameservers are
specified in /etc/resolv.conf. Look in that file and see if they are
what they should be, according to your ISP. It will look something
like this:
search nc.rr.com
nameserver 4.2.2.1
nameserver 4.2.2.2
If you don't know your ISP's DNS servers are, you can use the ones I
listed above temporarily; though they have been known not to work
well.
