Regarding ftp servers on windows:
I read 2 tutorials both of which described creating a directory on the server for each remote user.
Are users only allowed to access files in their respective directories? Is it possible to authorize access to entire contents of the server ?

Re: Network folder on Ubuntu:
This folder in karmic shows icons for nearby PCs to 'Browse bookmarked and local network locations', presumably Shared Folders on Windows.
Double-clicking produces a dialog box showing domain: WORKGROUP and asking for a password. I'm not sure what password this is.
Anybody?
