Hi Folks,
A little info on NCSU's plans for GroupWise migration and student services, since there seems to be some confusion here:
NCSU's Oracle Calendar services (the old Corporate Time/Netscape calendar system) are being EOL'ed at the end of June 2009. This impacts mostly faculty/staff. Users of the Oracle Calendar service are being given the option to migrate their calendar (and email) to GroupWise, or go their own way. The migration is scheduled for next week, 6/5/2009.
Following a campus study that completed work this spring, NCSU OIT is hoping to transition student email from our Cyrus IMAP services to Google's hosted email/calendar system this fall; this depends on successful contract negotiations, which are continuing, AFAIK.
Thanks,
Barry

I think the idea originally was that this would roll out to all
students, as well, so that instructors and students would be able to
place meetings on each other's calendars.  I hear that may not happen or
may be delayed, possibly due to difficulties scaling Groupwise up to the
number of users.  I'm not involved in any of this so I may not be
accurately informed.
