Hi Jesse,

I did some Googling and found a mailing list thread about
this issue:
http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/SuSE/2005-05/2924.html.

So it seems like adding "i8042.nomux=1" to the kernel boot
options will fix this. The best way to do this is going to
be to open up /boot/grub/menu.lst and add it there.

If you don't know how to do this I could probably walk you
through it.
