There have probably been several updates of Chrome since you last used it. I'd recommend trying it again. (Has never crashed for me, btw.)

For me, staying with Firefox comes down to two extensions that Chrom(ium) doesn't have equivalents for:

1) TreeStyleTab - puts my tabs in a sidebar instead of the top. Since I usually have 30-70 tabs open I highly having them listed in a way that allows me to read their titles. I see a couple Chrome extensions that will present a vertical list of tabs on demand; I'll give that a try and see if it suits me.

2) Mozilla Weave - Syncs pretty much everything in Firefox between computers. Not just bookmarks, but passwords, cookies, history, form input, tabs, and preferences. When I switch between computers or reboot into Windows it's like I haven't gone anywhere.

Not to start a flame war, but why are you and others still using Firefox instead of Chrome (or Chromium)?  I've been so impressed with Chrome that I haven't looked back since I switched.

Howdy LUG,
Has anybody else had FIrefox (or other builds of it) crash when 1 tab is closed in Lucid? This didn't occur in Karmic. (Lucid has been quite awesome otherwise.)

Cheers!
