What I mean is in Windows you can go to the start menu and hit search
and type in a computer name and be able to find a list of computers
with that phrase in their name. For instance lets say I want to find
all computers on my network with the name server in the computer name.
In Windows, I go to Start-Search-Type in server and click on find and
it displays a list of all computers on my network with that phrase in
its name.
I would like to know if Linux has any equivalent to this? Either by
command-line or gui.
Thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean, but I'm guessing you are talking about Network
Neighborhood in Windows? There's not really anything similar that I know
of anyway, but there may be some projects on freshmeat.net that will do
what you want. Check there first.

Is there a way in Linux to find computers like you can in Windows using
search?
