If you are talking about Network Neighborhood, then you can check out
Komba (http://komba.sourceforge.net). This queries each machine for the
Samba shares it has. If I recall correct, you give Komba an IP range,
and it will find all computers on that network that have SMB shares. It
will even find those who aren't "officially" there (according to the
WINS servers).

WARNING: Since it queries each machine, be very careful on which
networks you use this on. Some network administrators will detect the
large number of NetBIOS calls and think it is a windows virus (this
happened at my past university and they shut off my network port).

Hope that helped.
