I would recommend removing kubuntu-desktop, and then all the kde* packages which will probably take care of most your problems. That said, if you want, execute "dpkg -p kubuntu-desktop" and you can find out all that it depends on to remove.

That said, I think "sudo apt-get remove kdm kdebase-*; sudo apt-get autoremove; sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop;" should take care of things nicely, and much more simply!

Hi,

I have ubuntu 9.10 and kubuntu installed on top of it. (I remember
doing an install of kubuntu-desktop)

I do not use the 'k' apps, and I would like to get rid of them.

Any idea how I can uninstall the kubuntu and keep/revert to plain normal ubuntu?

Thanks,
Chaitanya.
