I agree... an installfest would be a good place to do this.

As per the impending OS debate, I don't really care what gets on there as long as it it done cleanly and supports what I want (any "major" distro would work).  Over others, I'd prefer Fedora, but I have no objection to using Ubuntu Server or any other capable server distro.

I personally think rolling this into a group event is a great idea. What would be the minimum amount of time to advertise an installfest?

I'm also curious about how Ubuntu Server didn't meet your needs. Would you mind explaining that a bit more?

Or even bundling it into an installfest would be nice; I've been thinking about trying another flavor of Linux after the pains of my Ubuntu 9.10 upgrade (Arch or Fedora probably). But anyway I'd be interested in everyone's contributions on the perfect Linux server setup. I tried Ubuntu Server on a computer at home and found it to not meet my needs, but maybe I could learn something new.
