Taken straight from my /etc/cups/printers.conf file

Info Lexmark printer at Arlington
Location Sheila's area (Arlington)
DeviceURI lpd://printer.ip.address.xx/P1
State Idle
Accepting Yes
JobSheets none none
QuotaPeriod 0
PageLimit 0
KLimit 0

Notice the P1, this is for which parallel port the printer is
connected to on the print server. Unfortunately this is using cups.
Works like a champ.
