For the interested:

In KDE, the delete command is configurable under Settings => Configure Shortcuts in Dolphin.

Under Dolphin's settings, you can enable it to show the Delete command in the menu, as well as "Move to Trash".

Personally, though, I would recommend you instead change your trash settings to say, 10 megabytes. That way, you'll always have the last few SMALL files you've "Deleted" around just in case you need them back, and you can just set the trash to automatically remove old or large files as per your preference and it does not have to warn you.

I didn't realize it, but yes, you can!  Thanks!

However, I'd still like to reconfigure my delete key.  That way, it's
just a 1 click deal.
