System->Preferences->Appearance->Interface, check "Editable menu shortcut keys"
Go into Nautilus, select a file. Go to the "Edit" menu and hover your mouse over the "Delete" option. Press the Delete key once (clears the shortcut), then again, so that "Delete" appears to the right of the Delete action. Shortcut set!

What I need is a way to configure my "delete" key (not a right-click
menu item) to bypass the trash bin.
