Hi LUG,

Since this week is Spring Break, we've got no meeting lined up for
tomorrow. Enjoy your time off!

At the start-of-semester planning meeting we had a suggestion that I
liked a lot. The idea was to have a talk-watch day, where members submit
recorded talks they particularly like or find informative. I'm thinking
we will try that out next week.

Submit talks here:

https://forum.lug.ncsu.edu/t/talk-suggestion/64/1

And vote for 'em with a +1 or a thumbs up or whatever your preferred
form of digital consensus demonstration is :-)

Best,
Quentin Young

Hi LUG,

As mentioned in my previous missive, for tomorrow's meeting we will be
watching a recorded talk. The talk we will watch was given by Douglas
Crockford (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_Crockford) and is about
his new paradigm for the WWW, called the the Seif Project, that aims to
fix the web's security and unify its patchwork resource & authentication
models. The talk was suggested by Steven Loudermilk, thank you Steven. :-)

I will also set aside some minutes of the meeting to discuss an upcoming
joint event with our friends in the ACM!

Food will be provided and will consist of a bread substrate with fruit
sauce and coagulated milk protein.

General Linux / software help is freely proffered; ask and ye shall receive.

Meeting info:

March 14, 7:00 P.M.
Engineering Building II, Room 3001
890 Oval Dr
Raleigh, NC 27606
