Hi LUG,
This Tuesday we'll have Markel Sanz giving a talk on machine learning.
He'll be covering what machine learning is, an overview of techniques,
and what the state of the art looks like.
This would have been posted to Discourse and crossposted here but it
appears our servers went down around 7:30 yesterday morning and have
failed to bring themselves back up. Hopefully we'll have that resolved
by tomorrow.
Meeting place and time are the usual 7:00 @ EB2 3001. Be there or be an
equilateral rectangle.
â–¡
Best,
Quentin Young

Hi LUG,
Haven't come up with any speakers or other interesting ideas for
tomorrow's meeting, so we'll make it a hack day. Come on over and work
on your personal projects, help us continue to move our services over to
char, or just hang out and talk computers & tech with us. Linux
questions and help welcome as well.
See you tomorrow,
Quentin Young

Hey all!
Since the United States will soon be celebrating the blessings of
fellowship, food, and free markets (in that order), we will not be
holding a meeting this coming Tuesday, November 22nd. Enjoy your
Thanksgiving break, and spend some time really meditating on all that we
have to be grateful for--and how you can use those privileges to bless
the lives of others, too!

Hi LUG,
Tomorrow is the last meeting before exams, and as we've had just one
(two? can't remember) social dinners this semester I think we'll make
tomorrow one. If anyone wants to get a calzone from DP Dough or grab
some coffee at the Cup a Joe next door around 7, you can find me there.
Both are next to the Mission Valley Cinema located at 2109 Avent Ferry
Rd # 124.
cheers, Quentin

Hi club,
Hope you've all enjoyed your winter breaks. it's that time of the year
again where we meet up, vote on officers and generally decide what we
want to do and work on for the semester. This semester's meeting room
will again be EB2 3001. Remember we need 4 officers to remain a
registered club. Those are:
President
Vice President
PR Officer
Treasurer
If you're interested in running for any of these roles, please show up!
Even if you're brand new to the club, if you think you would do well in
one of these roles you are more than welcome to run for an officer's seat.
Last semester we didn't meet our goal of having opensource.ncsu.edu up
and running due to a focus on reorganizing our server infrastructure.
With the exception of a domain name switch this has been mostly
completed, and we can revisit how we want to move forward with that. If
there are other projects members or potential members are interested in,
we'd love to hear about those too! Additionally I would like to gauge
interest in producing designs for club ads to be placed on digital
signage / Wolfline buses, so if you enjoy that kind of thing and think
you might want to whip something up we'd love to hear about it.
If this date doesn't work for you, please post to this thread or send an
email to the mailing list saying as much. If enough of us would like it
moved I have no problem moving it.
Enjoy the rest of your break this week and I look forward to seeing you
all Tuesday!

Hi LUG,
In light of an expressed preference for next week, the planning meeting has
been moved to Tuesday, January 17th at 7:00 PM in EB2 Room 3001.
This email was supposed to go out on Sunday but it appears it never made it
to the mailing list. My apologies. Let me know if there are questions.
Stay safe in the slush :-)
