I had a feeling the PDFs were just scanned images for the print
handouts since they contained no text that either Orca could read or
pdftotext could extract.

As suggested, I plan on visiting the Office of Disability Services
this afternoon to see if they can assist me with transcription
services.

Should be noted that I am presently enrolled at Elizabeth City State
rather than NC State, so wish me luck in getting any help(the
Bureaucratic portion of this school seems to be utterly incompetent
and is enough to make me wish I could afford to attend a different
school). Still, I appreciate what you've been able to tell me, even if
it was just confirming my suspicions.

Hello fellow LUGers!

This week's dinner with be at Noodles and Company. Dinner doesn't really
have a specific topic, besides "stuff that we think is cool/has been
happening recently."

When: Tuesday, September 16, 7:00 PM
Where: Noodles and Company, 403 Daniels St (Cameron Village)

For newcomers, keep in mind that the LUG does not pay for dinner - everyone
pays for what they order. But if the restaurant isn't busy, they shouldn't
mind if you just hang out with us and maybe have a beverage.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Hello, LUGgers,

This Tuesday, we'll have dinner together at Corbett's Burgers & Soda
Bar (http://corbettsburgers.com/) in Cary. Corbett's is a burger place
with an extensive collection of sodas. It's already received rave
reviews from Sha`Bren and prattmic.

Where: 126 Kilmayne Drive, Cary, NC 27511
When: Tuesday, September 30, 2014, 7:00 PM

Since Cary's a bit far away, I'm offering rides from campus in my
minivan. If you need a ride, shoot me an email (mlfrazie@ncsu.[redacted]) with
your name, cell phone number, and where you'll be around 6:30. We'll
probably leave campus between 6:40 and 6:45.

For newcomers, keep in mind that the LUG does not pay for dinner -
everyone pays for what they order. But if the restaurant isn't busy,
they shouldn't mind if you just hang out with us and maybe have a
beverage.

Thanks,
Matthew Frazier

Message-ID: <CAO6OnT4OtFkqnV5-nGiNeo4aEFEsaJC+1XO9J8x=J=p-3=uZoA@mail.gmail.[redacted]>

When: Saturday, October 4, 2014, 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Where: Withers 105

Withers is the building between Daniel and Ricks Hall, next to the 1911
building. The north ground floor entrance will be unlocked (that's the one
facing Ricks Hall).

If you've never been to a hack day before, they're a lot of fun.
Basically, we just all hang out in a room and work on stuff together.
Hack days are great opportunities to work on projects (school, work,
or personal), learn about new technologies, come up with ideas, and
play games of all kinds! Also, we usually go to dinner together afterwards.

If you have access to surge protectors, drinks, board games, card
games, or snacks, and don't mind bringing some, visit our wiki page
here and tell us what you're bringing:

http://lug.ncsu.edu/wiki/2014-10-04_Hack_Day/

But, if you don't want to/can't afford to bring any equipment or
consumables, *please* don't feel like you have to bring something to
show up.

Also, spoiler: Next week we will have a talk called "Divide and Conquer" on
partitioning. Check your mail for more details in a future announcement.

We hope to see you on Saturday!

Is it okay to get there late? I have a cross country meet (also the reason
why I haven't been able to do anything at all with LUG yet).

Thanks,
Josh

Yes of course! You're welcome to show up any time during the interval, on hack days we hang out.

Subject: [TriLUG-announce] Reminder - October 9 Meeting: Katello
Message-ID: <CAEaTd2XdnNKgEWRtSb8S4a-KgZjLN-15anHwWw_urmEQtrrBZg@mail.gmail.[redacted]>

*Topic:* Katello
*Presenter:* Brad Buckingham
*When:* Thursday, 9th October 2014, 7pm (pizza from 6.45pm)
*Where:* NC State Engineering Building II Room 1021, Centennial Campus
*Parking:* The parking decks and Oval Drive street parking are free after
5pm
*Sponsor: *Red Hat

What is Katello and how can it help me?

Katello (http://katello.org/) is a systems lifecycle management plugin to
Foreman (http://theforeman.org/), and the next-generation replacement for
the very-popular Spacewalk (http://spacewalk.redhat.com/). Katello adds
software and subscription management capabilities to Foreman, which itself
offers configuration management and provisioning via Puppet.

Katello might be useful to you if:
- you are a novice to advanced system administrator
- you are managing 10 to 10,000+ hosts
- you want to control the content available to hosts based on rules you
define
- you want to provision hosts using the content you are managing
- you want hosts to consume content that you are managing
- you would like to interact with the system using a web UI, CLI or REST API

This presentation will cover topics such as managing the lifecycle of
content, provisioning systems with that content and enabling existing
systems to consume content.

We would like to thank Red Hat for sponsoring this month's meeting. Red Hat
is the world's leading provider of open source software solutions using a
community-powered approach to reliable and high-performing cloud, Linux,
middleware, storage and virtualization technologies. Red Hat also offers
award-winning support, training, and consulting services. As the connective
hub in a global network of enterprises, partners, and open source
communities, Red Hat helps create relevant, innovative technologies that
liberate resources for growth and prepare customers for the future of IT.
