Primarily, Realm Linux is a systems administrator's tool. It allows for
rapid, identical deployment of NCSU machines without having to re-invent
the NCSU wheel (authN/authZ, file, print, etc.)

What the users normally ask about is having more modern Linux distro
versions. RHEL, of course, lags behind and then Realm Linux deployments
in labs can be delayed because of application testing.

Flip side is that a slow moving distro is really what you want in a long
term, supported environment.
