I have no idea when the project was active or when it died. I know it
has been available for a while, and most common package managers contain
it (e.g., aptitude).
I like it because it's terminal-based and can hold both IM chats and IRC
sessions. It permits vi and emacs key-bindings also, and so it's easy
to quickly jump from chat to chat.
