The drive has issues if you try to connect it to the sata controller on boot (it always fails POST)... I'm hoping this will be remedied by having it connect through USB (it may not work... but I'd like to try).

And yes... I'm aware a SATA->USB needs extra power.

Why not boot knoppix and ftp the files elsewhere with the drive connected to the host? You will also need to power the drive so you need a USB chassis with a power adapter.

If anyone has a Sata to USB connection cable lying around that I could use.... I need to get some data off of a nonbootable SATA drive.
