speaking of tomboy:
I normally use the gnome-panel's sticky notes applet for reminders.
Yesterday, I launched tomboy notes because I wanted to make a memo that was not sticky. I noticed that the Sticky Notes were accessible from the Tomboy Notes's - I don't know if they have always been integrated; never noticed it before.

Gnome-Do is so awesome, pretty handy.

For To-Do, I simply use tomboy.

Email: I use gmail, redirecting every email from each mailbox to my primary Gmail. and use Gmail to send emails.

I'll second the Gnome-Do; its FREAKIN AWESOME. (Default: Super+Space)
Additionally I bind Alt+K to launch a terminal.

Those are ALL of the shortcuts I use. No desktop shorties; no menus.

Alt+K - any and every console program
Super+Space - any and every graphical program

simple.easy.done.
