Hello LUGers!

Want to hear how real businesses build API services that scale? Or learn how Google's API Discovery Service works? Next Tuesday, November 1st , Joe Gregario from Google will be presenting on " Scalable APIs ". Joe is a Software Engineer at Google in the nearby Chapel Hill office who has worked a number of projects including Google App Engine, Google Wave and most recently Google's APIs. He's previously given talks at events like Google I/O (including the most recent one), so we're really fortunate to have him come talk here to us!

The talk will be held on November 1st in 1231 EB2 from 7 - 8pm . Note that this is a different location from our usual meetings (and on a different campus to boot!). I look forward to seeing you there!

Talk Title: Scalable APIs

Talk Abstract: Building APIs for your product is a great way to drive adoption. But what happens
if you instead of just having one or two APIs you have closer to 100, and growing? Come hear
about how Google tackled the problem of building scalable infrastructure to support APIs using
the Google API Discovery Service, and the myriad of tools built on top of it.
