IRC nickname, or other kind of online handle.
The name you use in person.
Which name you would prefer the site to use.
What your relationship is to NC State. (If you are not affiliated with NC State except through the LUG, choose Visitor.)
Notes for the site administrators on who you are and/or how to contact you.

This site exists to benefit the NC State Linux community and people who hang out with us. We want to be a friendly, welcoming community that doesn't get shut down by the University. As such, keep these things in mind:

  • Don't be a jerk (especially not to other members).
  • Don't use excessive profanity. (That's what LOUDBOT's for.)
  • Don't post or link to anything not safe for work (or school).
  • Don't try to break the site.
  • Don't intentionally break any laws or University policy.

Registration Info

  • Registration is restricted to members of the LUG. If you have shown up to more than one meeting (or you hang out in our IRC channel literally all the time), congratulations, you're a member!
  • Before your account is activated, the LUG officers will check to make sure that (a) we know who you are, and (b) you are not a bot.
  • Once you have registered, we'll give you your username. It is autogenerated from your nickname by lowercasing and removing any characters Django doesn't like. (So Sha`Bren becomes shabren.)

Password Advice

  • We don't have a minimum or maximum length restriction, but it's best to use something that's substantially long.
  • Also include some special characters, numbers, or both.
  • Don't use the same password that you use for other stuff. DEFINITELY don't use your campus Unity ID.
